The charitable organization Hometown Foundation Inc. remains dedicated to helping people in need. It runs several programs, including Hungerless Holidays.
Every year, families nationwide look forward to sharing meals while celebrating Thanksgiving. However, some families cannot share in this joy. Through the Hungerless Holidays program, the Hometown Foundation collects donations and uses them to buy turkeys and other food items for thousands of families in some cities nationwide. In 2023, Hungerless Holidays donated 27,500 turkeys, canned foods, and fresh produce to over 225,000 people. It reached individuals in several cities, including Bronx and Brooklyn in New York, Boston and Monson in Massachusetts, Foster and West Warwick in Rhode Island, Thompsontown and Carmichaels in Philadelphia, and Lorton in Virginia. Away from the Northeast, Hungerless Holidays reached individuals in Illinois, Alabama, and New Mexico. It was able to distribute the food thanks to support from volunteers and numerous police departments. The food donations in 2023 were the highest that Hungerless Holidays received in five years. In 2022, the program donated 24,000 turkeys and over 100,000 lbs of food. In 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, it donated 15,000 turkeys and several thousand pounds of food.
